AIRBORN DISINFECTION STANDARD NF T 72-281

Conforms to the standard: NF T 72-281. Disinfectants: Methods of airborne disinfection of surfaces – Determination of bactericidal, fungicidal and sporicidal activities.

Disinfection effectiveness on surfaces by the Sterinis®/Sterusil® combination was evaluated according to the methodology of Standard NF T 72-281.

Bactericidal

Reference strain

Reduction

Enterococcus hirae

7.4 Log

Staphylococcus aureus

5.7 Log

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

5.1 Log

Sporicidal

Reference strain

Reduction

Bacillus subtilis

6.1 Log

 AIRBORN VIRUCIDAL ACTIVITY

This extension of Standard NF T 72-281 covers application of the protocol to airborne disinfection of the viruses selected via the standard framework: “measurement in suspension of the virucidal activity” (NF T 72-180). The applicable thresholds for virus reduction for this standard were met.

The results meet the standard with a 4.2 Log reduction in 30 minutes.

(Note: The Sterinis® protocol recommends a contact time of 2h for both the air space and surfaces)

EVALUATION IN REAL CONDITIONS IN HOSPITALS

The Sterinis®/Sterusil® couple have been evaluated in many real conditions of use in various countries.
Those evaluations show the efficiency of the process in many situations and for real situations of contamination.
